Streetfilms FAQ

1. Can I support Streetfilms by sponsoring a video?

A: Yes.  We welcome individual video and series sponsorships by organizations or individuals.  This is a great way to help give your organization exposure.  Check out this video sponsored by Bicycle Habitat.  Email clarence@streetfilms.org to start a conversation about a sponsorship.

2. Can I make a tax-deductible donation to Streetfilms?

A: Of course.  Streetfilms is a project of OpenPlans, a 501c3 public charity. 3. Can I hire Streetfilms to produce a video on behalf of my organization?

A: Very occasionally, Streetfilms partners with outside organizations to produce videos.  Please send an email to clarence@streetfilms.org for more information about this kind of service and the type of film you would be looking to produce.

4. Can I re-edit or otherwise use Streetfilms footage in my media project?

A: Any re-use of any of our film footages requires advance permission. As a non-profit we do need to charge for this use in most cases (although there always will be the exception based upon case-by-case basis. We also have very limited resources to provide footage to outside organizations. Such that, we often will only be able to work with other documentaries, tv stations, professional organizations that can surely remunerate us for our time. See more here for Terms of Use.

5. How can I view or screen Streetfilms without an internet connection?

A:  If you are using a laptop to display Streetfilms but do not have internet access in the room in which you are presenting, you should be able to re-play a Streetfilm while disconnected from the internet, provided that you have already played the video all the way through while connected to the internet and that you use the same browser window in which you originally played the video.  If you close the browser window and open the video in a new one, it will not play when disconnected from the internet.  Make sure you test out this method first before relying on it.

6. How do I take Streetfilms to full screen?

A:  It's easy and Streetfilms look great when streamed full screen. Just click the tiny quad-arrow icon in the lower right hand corner of a video's individual post page.  Click here for further instruction.

7. What are Streetfilms public performance policies?

A:  Streetfims media can be shown just about everywhere, provided that no admission is charged for screening the videos.  If you plan to charge admission for a screening, please contact us at info@streetfilms.org to obtain permission.  Read more about this in our Terms of Use.

8. I want to host a Streetfilms screening.  Have any advice?

A:  Watching Streetfilms with a group is a great way to start a conversation and connect with others in your community.  Click here for some tips about organizing a screening, big or small.

9. Are Streefilms filmmakers available to speak or appear on a panel at my screening or special event?

A: Streetfilms filmmakers have presented in a variety of venues including at professional conferences, community meetings, in university classrooms, independent movie theaters and at film festivals.  Email info@streetfilms.org with the details of your event and we will get back to you with our specific availability as soon as possible.
