Street Transformations: Grand Army Plaza

As one gentleman said to me while admiring the new greenery and traffic islands in Grand Army Plaza, "Wow, sometimes government does work!" It's easy to quickly forget how things were, but we here at Streetfilms aim to not let that happen. Check out these extraordinary before/afters; especially the new separated bike lane which safely shepherds riders from Prospect Park.

How'd we get here? Check out: Grand Army Traffic Survey, Reclaiming Grand Army, Minding the GAP.

  1. nice try

Yeah, its nice and all- pretty. But too bad the bike lane only goes one way, from the slope to prospect heights.
I guess only rich breeders in the slope and in Prospect Heights deserve a bike lane that gets them to where they need to go.
what about those of us trying to get from the South side of eastern parkway to...anywhere. Yeah we have a bike path on the greenway, but it dumps you into traffic, or onto the crowded sidewalk in front of the museum - forget about trying to get around GAP without illegally riding on the sidewalks, or fighting through a series of confusing crossings. Lame.
