Thank You for Making Our Spring Pledge Drive a Huge Success!
by Ben Fried
I would like to extend a big virtual bear hug to everyone who donated to Streetsblog and Streetfilms during our spring pledge drive. Thanks to your support, we exceeded our goal and raised more than $31,000. That goes a long way and will fund a lot of reporting and videomaking in support of safer, more livable streets.
I’d also like to thank our sponsors for donating the fantastic prizes that several lucky contributors are taking home.
Our grand prize, a new Schwinn Jenny 7 courtesy of Ride Brooklyn, goes to reader Danylo Rakowsky of Brooklyn Heights. Dan is an Iraq War vet who will be picking up the Jenny for his bride-to-be, Christine. They’re getting married later this month, believe it or not. (No, we did not do biographical interviews before selecting a winner — this was totally random, people.)
Thank you Dan for supporting Streetsblog and thank you Ride Brooklyn for donating one of these beauties to the cause.
Without further ado, here are the rest of our winners (except for folks who asked not to appear online)…
YES! Magazine subscription:
- Karen Allen, Hilda Cohen, John Krause, Jim Moore, and Ed Throckmorton
Planet Bike commuter pack:
- Mike Dowd, Mark Guralnick, and Michelle Swanson
Vaya messenger bag:
- Eugene Resnick
Mast Brothers chocolate and factory tour:
- Steve O’Neill
Yehuda Moon comics:
- Christine Berthet, Zack Mensinger, and Gavin Platt
Thanks again everyone. If you didn’t take something home this time, remember that the next pledge drive will be here before you know it.
