Tour de Queens 2008
Not even the heat and humidity of a sizzling 96 degree day could keep nearly 500 people from pedaling the inaugural Tour de Queens. The beautiful, family-friendly course - which hugged much of the northwest perimeter of the borough - was put together by the Queens Transportation Alternatives Committee and featured "lots of smiles per hour." Highlights included: a very bike-friendly Queens Museum of Art (which also showed some Streetfilms) and a briefly ironic moment where it looked like riders were queuing up for $4.25 per gallon gas!
It was HOT! HOT! HOT!
My favourite part was seeing all the riders pass pass by the $4.45 per gallon gas signs.
History in the making.
Amazing!
Thanks to everyone who came out despite the heat, I hope you all had a good time. I was just so relieved to see the whole thing come off so well in the end.

Sorry I missed this ride, I'm sure it was a blast!
I was not in town so this was great to see

Definitely the "hottest" ride I've been on...so much fun!
I participated in this and being 1st one is special. I celebrated afterwards with bbq ribs and bbq chicken. But I think this will be my last tour as biking is too much work for me and I prefer sitting at the couch at home watching TV.
