Celebrating NYC Bicycling 2011: A Tribute

Cycling in New York City overcame a much undeserved, unfair, zealous media bombardment in 2011.  But as usual we just kept biking and NYC's numbers kept growing - doubling since 2007. And as demonstrated over and over, public opinion polls show cycling & bike lanes enjoy broad support in the general public, a fact that the media seems to ignore.

So we figured let's celebrate the end of 2011 showing some of people out on their bikes Streetfilms style. (And we threw in a bunch of real FACTS in case CBS2 news decides to take a gander.)

Great video!  The best Hannukah present so far!

Thank you Clarence! It's films like this one which keep me motivated to be involved with ped/bike safety issues within my community and why I've recently made a donation to StreetBlogs/Films.

    Happy Holidays,

Thank you Clarence for another great movie!

its funny, cause this year's media attacks have made me ride my bicycle more.  my car usage is actually down. and recently my odometer on my bike has been more than the odo on my car. partly thanks to this mild winter so far.

Great video! We were in NYC this past summer and loved seeing all the cyclists. Especially the families.

This was my first summer at 40 years old riding a bicycle and I loved it.  I plan to ride much more in 2012 and I actually use my truck only once a week now.  I plan to commute to work starting March.

The melodramatic 80's synch-orchestra music really needs to be replaced with something a little more cerebral and contemporary.

Stupendous! (And I'm not just saying that because I'm in it 😉

Question. Why can't I add your videos to my watch later list? Very annoying.
